<< i forgot to remember to forget. >>

Free Image Hosting

The little things, you do to me are
taking me over, i wanna show ya
everything inside of me
like a nervous heart that, is crazy beating
my feet are stuck here, against the pavement
i wanna break free, i wanna make it
closer to your eyes, get your attention
before you pass me by

So back up back up take another chance
Don’t you mess up mess up I don’t wanna lose you
Wake up wake up this aint just a thing that you
Give up give up don’t you say that I’d be
Better off better off, sleepin by myself and wonderin
If im better off better off, without you boy

So don't just leave me hanging on

And every time, you notice me by
holdin me closely, and sayin sweet things
i don't believe, that it could be
you speakin your mind and, sayin the real thing
my feet have broke free, and i am leavin
i'm not gonna stand here, feelin lonely but
i wont forget you, and i won't think this
was just a waste of time

apparently i'm back to the phase where i quote lyrics i relate to.
i'm 18 all over again.
which feels oddly long ago.

<< this is how i starve myself >>

it's weird.
i thought that once i come here i'll have a billion exciting things to blog about.
well they happen,
but i just fail to express equivalent verve through wordy explanations.
not to say that i'm such a brilliant word smith to begin with,
but where did my literacy go?

did i leave it back home in one of my drawers?
or did the robin that flew in our room that day took it away?

anyway,
food for thought,
if someone asks you describe yourself in ONE word, just one,
which will you choose.
seemingly impossible, isn't it?
there's so many sides to us, so many traits.

but if you're asked to describe another person,
suddenly it becomes alot easier.
jerk, jock, geek, bimbo, hot, black, brown, yellow...

in saying that i have no bottom line,
i just wonder why is it that way.
shouldn't we be more sure of ourselves than another?
should my trait, hobby or career define me?
which *one*?

is it still called 'food for thought' when your mind is not fed with answers
but gets hollowed out even more instead?

on another note,
HAPPY 18TH WEIZHE!!!
.
gosh you're still a baby!!!

we sat in a circle in the middle of the night,
guessed riddles
and sang corny love songs.

sounds cheesy but i bet you guys've only seen it in the movies
and wonder how's it like eh?

right now hawaii is cooooooold.
that explains the hoodies.

it's barely a month since my arrival.
it's not what i call home yet,
but it's starting to feel comfortable.
i made alot of friends,
and work and school has been good.

sometimes i wake up and find it so surreal that i'm in
HAWAII!

you know how brouchers usually look better than the real thing?
nope!
not hawaii.

whatever you see on pictures or videos or whatevs,
it's tenthousandfreakingtimes more breathtaking.

i've been writing to myself,
telling the future me - when things become less exciting and more humdrum -
how lucky i am to be here.
to have awesome people around me,
enroll in awesome classes (i'm gonna take hula or surfing next sem),
and have the awesomest job in the entire world!

if i ever complain about anything,
someone needs to give me a tight slap.
and show me this post again.

chernhan,
if you're sick of princeton you really should come.
Brigham Young may not be as prestigious,
but i promise you'll love it here. =)

and to nigel,
happy 7 months babe!
yeah we made up. =)

if you haven't figured it out yet,
it's PEARL HARBOR that we visited on the same day,
hence the same outfit.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

work was great today.
chinese tours are easy.
they amuse themselves by taking lots and lots of pictures.

i'm learning new heights of patience everyday
dealing with people so much now.

maybe one day i'll bring my cam with me to work.

<< end with the beginning in mind too! >>

FINALLYYYYYY!!!!!

orientation's done.
placement tests done.
insurance thingies done.
got all the stuff i need at walmart.
passed TB test.
got my job.
AND GOT MY CLASSES REGISTERED!

it's been a loooooooong week i tell you.
it feels like i've been doing the loco-motion for a week straight!
the only thing i have yet to complete is my interview with the social security officer.
but that's not till next week.

my current classes:
Biology 100
English 101
Math 106
(i'm sure chern han's taking like math 5000 or sth)
Religious Studies 121
Student Development 101.

they total up to 12 credits.

and i'm on the waiting list for Art 220.
where i'll learn stuff like visual design and stuff.
very cool!
might be too much for me to handle.
but it's a pre-requisite for the photography class
which i am desperately trying to enroll in

man!

saturday there was a tour for freshies and transfers around oahu.
this post will be part 1 cos there's 46 pictures in total.

CIRCLE ISLAND
Photobucket
maybe it's my camera.
or me as the photographer
(i really tried my best!)
but mostly it's cos of the fog,
these pictures don't at all capture how breathtaking it truly is.

Photobucket
wind too strong!
here i'm with margie.
my roommate from indonesia.

Photobucket

she's my next door.
thw wind makes everybody look bad.

WORLD FAMOUS (apparently) MATSUMOTO SHAVE ICE

i don't know what's the big deal about shave ice la really.
so expensive just for ice, and syrup.
ice kacang is way way waaaaaaay better!
only 2 ringgit!

shave ice is 2.50 dollars if you want ice cream and red beans!

that's part 1 for you.
finito.

<< kia'ora! >>

guess what guess what guess what!

well just for dramatics and suspense,
i'm only gonna tell you what happened at the end of this post.

first,
PICTURES!

Photobucket
that's temple square beach.
beautiful!

Photobucket
we just wanted to dip our ankles cos
we went there quite spontaneously
and weren't prepared to swim at all
but the waves got us pretty wet.

Photobucket

Photobucket
this is Kanasa.
do NOT add an "i" at the end of her name like evil chinfei did!

Photobucket
me posing quite poorly.
now you're looking at the famous Hukilau beach.
which is 10 mins away from temple square, almost.

Photobucket

Photobucket
our lop sided sand castle.
kanasa kept wanting to shape it like taj mahal but
neither of us had a mental picture of the architecture.

Photobucket
the top view.
grand huh?

Photobucket
the proud engineers!

Photobucket
rainbow!
you can see?
it's quite common to see rainbows here in hawaii.
apart from the fact that they are on the license plate and id's.

Photobucket

Photobucket

to those who watched superbad,
actually the real id's don't look like that.

nevermind about trying to keep dry,
after building the sand castle it poured.
so we went home as wet as chicken in soup!
but it was fun running back home.

these past few days i've been going through orientation.
both for uni and pcc.
Polynesian Cultural Centre.
where us IWES students work.

Photobucket
the canoe ride station.

Photobucket
us in the canoe.
i look borrihle!
tired okay?

Photobucket
the new zealand village

Photobucket
the maori show.
they really touched me in some odd way that i nearly cried.
many guests teared too.
you guys HAVE to come to see what i mean.

Photobucket
this i took especially for the girlys.
enough reason to come?
no?
come with me and you get 50% off any package you sign up with!

Photobucket
customers who got picked to perform.

so job interviews were today
and i got - in my view - the best job in the house - a tour guide!
*imagines a burst of applause*

PCC is AMAZING!
i'm not saying this cos i work there now.
that's just how i felt once i step foot into pcc.

i can't really say i've settled down.
i still need to call back alot and my friends are only acquantences so far.
my room mate's nice.
but not on the same wavelength as me.
they all say it gets better.
if it does i hope it happens fast.
